MIAMI–(July23, 2013)– Organized by the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB), the wildly popular Miami Spice Restaurant Program launches witha record-breaking number of participating restaurants, enhanced website and an expanded line-up of events and promotions.Set to run from August 1 – September 30, 2013, the summer’s highly-anticipated culinary celebrationis expected to feature close to 200participating luxury and fine diningrestaurantsin Greater Miami and the Beaches.Sponsored by MasterCard Priceless Miami, Norwegian Cruise Line, BACARDÍ®, Stella Artois and Wines of Chile, this year foodies can enter to win savory prizes and make reservations on the newly enhanced Miami Spice website at www.iLoveMiamiSpice.com. To celebrate the start of this year’s program, Miami Spicehas partnered with the Miami New Times’ Iron Fork eventfor the officialcommencement on August 1, 2013.Guests of the Miami Spice Kick-off and Iron Fork event will watch two of Miami’s finest chefs, Jamie De Rosa from Tongue & Cheek as well as Giorgio Rapicavoli from Eating House, go pot-to-pot in a sizzling showdown for supremacy overseen by famed veteran chef Allen Susser. The winner will receive the prestigious Iron Fork Award, signifying the area’s top toque. The Miami Spice kick-off event will also feature entertainment by the Tony Award-nominated Broadway musical Legally Blondepresented by Norwegian Cruise Line, the sponsor of the VIP section.Legally Blonde is set to be the headline entertainment on Norwegian’s new Norwegian Getaway, the largest ship to homeport year-round in PortMiami and set to debutin February. It will be easier than ever to find a restaurant and book a reservation this year with an enhanced, dedicated website (www.iLoveMiamiSpice.com). The new website will contain a complete list of participating venues, menus and scheduled events. Restaurants will be posting photos of their venue and dishes, bios of their chef as well as recipes. Consumers will be able to search through Miami Spice restaurants by cuisine type, area/neighborhood, lunch/dinner, category (fine dining vs. luxury dinning).
