Stars and Guitars 2017 99.9 Kiss FM Joe DiMaggio’s Children’s Hospital
by Lisa Sussman- Eye on South Florida 10.29.17

Fort Lauderdale, FL- It’s back! The eighth annual KISS 99.9 Stars and Guitars concert returned this year in the brand new Pembroke Pines City Center. Stars and Guitars features some of country music’s most popular artists, including headliner Justin Moore. The other top notch country stars in the line-up include Kane Brown, Luke Combs, Brett Young and Easton Corbin.

Stars and Guitars features a round-robin format, rather than a get-on-get-off setup. Last years charity event benefiting Joe DiMaggio’s Children’s Foundation is a community highlight that helps to raise money for a foundation that regardless of the patients finances, the care is there for the kids. Last nights event was a sold out show. I covered this event last year and the interest in an intimate event like this round-robin format really works for the night. It is a fun and easy exchange between songs that are played out on 99.9 Kiss Country. This locals favorite radio station helps to raise awareness by partnering in charity and the crowd, kids, and entertainers all benefit from this format. It was hard for me to pick one song to highlight as everyone has a favorite. Brett Young said it best in his lyrics of his #1 Billboard Smash Hit, In Case you Didn’t Know , “in case you didn’t know, baby i’m crazy about you, and i’d be lying if I said that I can’t live this life without you.” Anything to help children achieve a healthy and full life is worth supporting through music and charity efforts.
