Host and French Reporter on the red carpet with Jonathan Banks and a host of celebrities who turned out in support of the Emily Shane Foundation’s Successful Education Achievement program’s charity gala. To honor Emily Shane, the foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping middle school students who struggle in the classroom. This is the first charity gala for the foundation, with hope to raise enough money to expand the S.E.A program to more schools throughout the state.
Mission and Goals
Founded by her family following her tragic murder at the age of 13 on April 3, 2010, The Emily Shane Foundation has three main areas of focus:
Promote the concept of “Passing It Forward”
We encourage everyone to perform acts of kindness for others. No deed is too small. In this way, we honor the person that Emily was: kind, caring, empathic, and always ready to help others in need.
Help us reach our goal of one hundred million good deeds!
The SEA (Successful Educational Achievement) Program
This educational initiative provides one-on-one mentoring for struggling or failing middle school students in the mainstream classroom. We only serve those who could not otherwise afford this much needed individualized support. SEA Program students are those who risk “falling through the cracks” and/or “don’t fit the mold”. The educational system has no solution to help these children outside the classroom. Our unique program acts as a safety net to help make a positive difference in their academic success.
Promote Safety on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu
We are committed to raising awareness and promote solutions to the dangers that this 27 mile stretch of highway presents. Our aim is to end the grief and sorrow that we and many others have had to endure.
