211cHost Jessica Koussevitzky was on the red carpet for this year’s Academy Awards. The 5th Annual South Florida Community Care Network Non-Profit Academy Awards hosted by Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and presented by 2-1-1 Broward honored Broward County’s non-profit organizations and leaders for their dedication and impact on the community.

 
211dThe award categories included: Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Non-Profit Organization of the Year; PNC Bank Non-Profit Leader of the Year; Russo Battista Law Group Non-Profit Board Leader of the Year; SunTrust Bank Non-Profit Organization of the Year – The Arts; The Wasie Foundation Non-Profit Organization of the Year – Collaboration; Brown & Brown Insurance Non-Profit Organization of the Year – Innovation; Calvin, Giordano & Associates Non-Profit Organization of the Year – Rising Star; Children’s Services Council of Broward County Collective Impact for Youth Award; OK Generators Lifetime Achievement Award; Heidi Schaeffer, M.D. Charitable Trust Child Abuse Prevention & Awareness Award and the Publix Community Choice Award. The winners in each category received an Academy Award statue and $1000 for each of their non-profit organizations. The other two finalists in each category will be awarded $500 each. The grants awarded for the The Wasie Foundation Non-Profit Organization of the Year – Collaboration category were divided equally among the collaborating organizations by the leading agency. All other non-profits nominated were included in the Publix Community Choice Award, which were decided by votes received from the community. Organizations also had an opportunity to win the new Heidi Schaeffer, M.D. Charitable Trust Child Abuse Prevention & Awareness Award. Organizations submitting a nomination in any category with a consistent mission, were eligible for this award. Susan M. Mansolillo, Senior Director, Human Resources at South Florida Community Care Network; Susan Renneisen, Vice President of Community Affairs and Special Events for the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino; and Jen Klaassens, Vice President of Programs for The Wasie Foundation and 2-1-1 Broward Board Member were this year’s event co-chairs. Evan Golden and Kavita Channe co-hosted the event.
