The Darrell Gwynn Foundation hosted it’s annual gala at Passion Nightclub at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Friday. This year’s gala, the “VIP White Party”, featured special guest Vanilla Ice. The event was hosted by RockWithU Entertainment and was presented by the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino – Hollywood and Passion Nightclub, Setnor-Byer Family Foundation, DMR Corporation, Van Kirk & Sons, and GSD Contracting. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Darrell Gwynn Foundation whose mission is to provide support people with paralysis and prevent spinal cord injuries. Host Evan Golden was there to catch up with Darrell, Vanilla Ice, some supporters, and the wheelchair recipient.
“Our annual gala has been such a fun event for our donors and friends and this year’s theme will continue that tradition,” said Darrell Gwynn, president of the Darrell Gwynn Foundation. “We are thrilled to have Vanilla Ice as our special guest and attend in support of our foundation. When we invited him to the party, he immediately accepted and said he would sing a few of his hits for us! We can’t wait and it is particularly great to have another South Floridian support our foundation. Even though we have a national Wheelchair Donation Program and hold events across the country, we are a South Florida based organization and my family and I are all South Florida natives. Most of the children that benefit from our wheelchair donations and Education & Prevention Program are right here in South Florida. It means a lot for us to come together with our local community for this celebration.”
Included in the evenings events, the Darrell Gwynn Foundation, on behalf of the donors and supporters attending the annual gala, gave the gift of mobility to David Humes an individual living with paralysis by donating a custom power wheelchair. Through this donation, DGF and its supporters provided the gifts of mobility, freedom and independence at the gala.
