We all want those IG-worthy photos right? And since it’s summer, now is the perfect time to scope out the “perfect” spot for your photos. Whether you like nature, skyscrapers, history, or all of the above, Chicago has something for everyone. I have put together a list of 10 spots for incredible photography. This isn’t an exhaustive list, but it includes some of Chicago’s staples. And if you’re an amateur or professional photographer and want some dope views of the city, head over to one of these spots, I promise you won’t be disappointed.

1. Lincoln Park

One of our favorite stops is the Nature Boardwalk which isn’t far from North Avenue Beach. You’ll find it right next to the zoo. The Lincoln Park neighborhood has lovely facades and architecture as well.

2. John Hancock Observatory

The 360 Chicago Observatory is on the 94th floor and shows off Chicago from all angles. If you want to save a few dollars, head to the Signature Lounge on the 96th floor instead. Buy a drink and get a similar view. Although the drinks are pricey, you’re really paying for the view.

3. Riverwalk

The Riverwalk is a good spot for visitors and locals to wine, dine, or take in the city views from many angles and bridges. The architecture, the bridges, and the boats give you a good glimpse of what Chicago has to offer.

4. Londonhouse Rooftop

Probably one of the best views you can find is atop the Londonhouse. Whether you’re here during the day or at night, the views are incredible. I would recommend coming here at night to grab a drink and soak in the city lights.

5. Willis Tower Skydeck

Known as the Sears Tower to almost anyone who grew up in or near Chicago, the Skydeck offers incredible city views. Sunset is the perfect time to be on floor 103. You can also step on “The Ledge” and see the city below you through a glass floor.

6. Millennium Park

You can start from Grant Park (by the Agora installation) and work your way north to the Bean (Cloud Gate) with a stop at Buckingham Fountain. Make sure you walk through the center of the parks to make sure you see all of the sculptures!

7. State & Roosevelt

If you’re looking for somewhere that doesn’t feel like “Chicago,” then head over to the row of homes along State Street between 14th Street and Roosevelt Road. The colorful houses really make it seem like you’re in San Francisco!

8. Museum Campus

The Chicago skyline from this angle is one of the most unique. You’ll get some incredible shots and probably see a lot of engagement sessions. It’s one of the most popular and best places to take pictures in Chicago for engagements or weddings.

9. Seascape

This spot is perfect for photos if you want a mix of both landscape and architecture.

10. Chicago Theater

The beautiful historical lights of the illuminated panels of the Chicago Theatre and the modern city are a perfect contrast, even in colors with the warm lights and the cold colors of the skyscrapers. Incredible spot for iconic photos at night.
