Chicago Blackhawks at Carolina Hurricanes | Saturday, November 7, 2026 | 7:00 PM CT / 8:00 PM ET | Lenovo Center, Raleigh | CHSN, ESPN+, Hurricanes Hockey Network

A heads-up first: this one is in Raleigh, so the Hurricanes are the home team, and it’s the finale of a road trip that has gone badly.

I picked the Lightning to beat us on Thursday, 4-2. Tampa won 4-1, so I had the winner and was one goal off on the total. The Hawks scored once on 26 shots, per Doc’s Sports. That’s five straight losses and eight in the last nine, and now we face the team with the best record in the league.

Game Info: Blackhawks at Hurricanes

  • Date: Saturday, November 7, 2026
  • Puck drop: 7:00 PM CT / 8:00 PM ET, per Fubo and Sportbusy. theScore lists it as Nov. 8, which looks like a UTC date
  • Venue: Lenovo Center, Raleigh, North Carolina
  • TV: CHSN in Chicago, plus ESPN+ and the Hurricanes Hockey Network
  • Records: Blackhawks 4-12-1 (9 points, 0-7-1 on the road, last 10: 2-7-1); Hurricanes 13-3-2 (28 points, last 10: 7-2-1)
  • Odds: Doc’s Sports had Carolina at -390 and Chicago at +310 with a total of 6.5. Another site listed -418 and +418, which can’t both be right, so treat the exact price as approximate. A -390 line implies about 80% for Carolina
  • Last meeting: Carolina won 5-2 on Oct. 10, 2026

The Hawks: A Rookie and a Road Record

The numbers are the same story. Chicago is 31st in goals per game (2.18) and in shots (23), and 31st in goals against (3.94) and shots against (30.5), per theScore. The Hawks are 0-7-1 on the road.

  • Kantserov: The rookie has a seven-game points streak and leads NHL rookies with eight goals, per Field Level Media. He’s the best thing about this roster right now.
  • Goalie: Spencer Knight (4-9-0, .891 on theScore’s page) sat out Thursday and could return, per Field Level Media. He has been in net for all four Chicago wins, so the Hawks have a real reason to start him.
  • Injuries: Patrick Kane (upper body) and Bowen Byram (upper body, IR) are listed out.
  • Lineup: I couldn’t confirm tonight’s lines.

The Hurricanes: Best Record in the League

Carolina is 13-3-2 and leads the NHL in shots per game (33.3) and shots allowed (22.6). It scores 3.83 goals a game (third) and allows 2.33 (third), per theScore. It beat the Islanders 5-3 on Thursday after beating Winnipeg 7-0 on Sunday.

  • Goalies: Pyotr Kochetkov is 10-1-0 with a 1.64 GAA and .922 save percentage. He could return Saturday after his winning streak ended on Tuesday, per Field Level Media. Brandon Bussi started Thursday, and I couldn’t confirm tonight’s goalie.
  • Skaters: Sebastian Aho has 23 points in 18 games, Logan Stankoven leads the team with 11 goals and Blake has a career-high eight-game points streak, per Field Level Media.
  • Injuries: Taylor Hall returned Thursday after nine games out. Jordan Staal is on IR and Alexander Nikishin is day-to-day, per Sportbusy.

The Matchups That Matter

Carolina’s shot volume against our defense. The Hurricanes lead the league in shots, and the Hawks give up 30.5 a game. That arithmetic is bad.

Kantserov against a team that doesn’t give up much. Carolina allows 22.6 shots a game, so chances will be scarce. If he scores again, it’d be impressive.

Knight or Soderblom. A rested Knight is our best shot. Soderblom’s numbers this year are far worse.

The power play. Ours was last in the league (10.6%) as of this week, so a power-play goal would be a rare thing.

The road trip. This is the last stop, and we haven’t won once away from home.

What Actually Decides It

There’s no real argument for Chicago here. The market has Carolina near 80%, the Hurricanes have the best record in the league, and we’ve lost five in a row. Doc’s Sports takes Chicago at +310 as a value pick, and I understand the math, but I wouldn’t bet my own money on it.

If we steal one, it looks like Knight standing on his head, a Kantserov goal and a power-play goal. That’s a lot of things at once. I’m picking Carolina to score early and control the game.

My Honest Final Score Prediction: Carolina Hurricanes 4, Chicago Blackhawks 1

This will be a tough game for us unfortunately!
