DeMar DeRozan Has to Score 40+
DeMar needs an absolute monster game just to keep us within 15. Embiid and the 76ers’ size will make him work for every single bucket.
Hit Threes at an Absurd Rate
If Simons, Sexton, and our shooters can knock down 20+ threes at 50%+, we have a puncher’s chance. If we go cold, we’re getting blown out by 30.
Someone Has to Somehow Slow Down Joel Embiid
This is basically impossible. Embiid is going to dominate. If he drops 35+ with 12 rebounds and makes it look effortless, we’re cooked.
Win the Rebounding Battle (Absolutely Not Happening)
Embiid and the 76ers will destroy us on the glass. We can’t let them get 20 offensive rebounds and second-chance points.
Don’t Get Humiliated on National TV
The 76ers are championship contenders at home. We’re the 11th seed. They’re going to win. But if they beat us by 30+ in Philly, that’s absolutely embarrassing.
What Philadelphia Will Bring
Joel Embiid will dominate with elite scoring, rebounding, and rim protection. Tyrese Maxey will explode for quick scoring bursts. Tobias Harris will provide veteran production. The Wells Fargo Center crowd will be loud and hostile.
The 76ers’ championship talent, home court advantage, and size advantage will overwhelm us completely. If we’re sloppy or don’t execute, this will get ugly very fast.

DeMar DeRozan battles his heart out and drops 36 points, showing he can still compete. Anfernee Simons gets hot briefly and scores 22. We hang around for one quarter behind three-point shooting.
But Joel Embiid absolutely dominates with 32 points, 14 rebounds, and 4 blocks, making our interior defense look nonexistent. Tyrese Maxey adds 28 points with explosive scoring. The 76ers’ size and talent pull away in the second quarter and never look back.
Sixteen-point loss feels generous. We’re championship contenders vs the 11th seed, and the talent gap is massive.
Why This Game Matters (Even Though We’re Getting Destroyed)
We’re 11th in the East. The season’s been over for weeks.
So why does tonight matter?
Because the 76ers represent championship basketball. Embiid’s dominance. Elite two-way play. Home court advantage.
DeMar DeRozan deserves to compete against the best, even if we’re going to lose. And maybe—just maybe—we can at least avoid total humiliation on the road.
Realistically? We’re getting destroyed on the road by a championship contender with Joel Embiid. But it’s basketball. Anything can happen.
