‘Flavors of France, Beaujolais Passions and Beyond’
Celebrates the 2014 Beaujolais Nouveau in Los Angeles
Attention passionate wine aficionados: The 2014 Georges Duboeuf Beaujolais Nouveau and Beaujolais-Villages Nouveau both received a Gold Medal at The Lyon-Beaujolais Nouveau Trophy this year, a prestigious honor that speaks to the high quality of the 2014 vintage. Indeed this competition is organized in partnership with the Association of French Oenologists from the Burgundy Region and Inter Beaujolais, and measures nearly 400 wine samples!
As part of the national Beaujolais Nouveau celebration, the highly anticipated Georges Duboeuf wine was unveiled in Los Angeles a few days ago at ‘Flavors of France, Beaujolais Passions and Beyond!’ French, passions, glamour and glitz… who else than our one and only ‘Eye on LA’ Jackie Watson – The French Reporter to cover this event in exclusivity!
Throughout the night, Jackie Watson mingled with attendees inquiring about their passions, and experienced the French ‘Art de Vivre’ first hand. She toasted the new 2014 vintage, sampled delicious French specialties and fine cuisine, while enjoying a medley of live performers “à la mode de Paris!”
Strolling accordionist extraordinaire, Jean-Paul Monsche welcomed patrons with his enthusiastic tunes, while on stage, actor Franck Amiack — the Master of Ceremony for the evening — opened up the show with his spicy humor, and introduced Yesteryears Dancers, an authentically costumed historical dance troupe, who reenacted French Renaissance court and ball dances, and encouraged the audience to join in!
PATjE followed and performed an acoustic set in French with his guitar player Yannis. Among other songs, he interpreted his own version of ‘La Vie en Rose.’ Influenced by the growth of singer songwriters from all kinds of genre, he has built his own style from soul, funk and Brazilian rhythms. PATjE’s last album, ‘Pasaporte,’ was a favorite of Latinos DJs.
Julia & Jacob the main singers in the Paris Chansons band also performed as a duo. They brought beautiful harmonies and guitar playing effects on a number of French songs, creating a richer and more dynamic sound.
The event, produced by Passions Productions, closed with a great raffle and fantastic DJ sweeping attendees off their feet, and leaving our French Reporter on the dance floor to reaffirm that life is all about PASSIONS!
