It is that time of year again to oohh and ahh with 4th of July Fireworks. Here are this year’s locations for Palm Beach County
Boca Raton: The Fabulous Fourth Celebration will offer loads of family fun with rock climbing, giant slides, rides, carnival games and more, starting at 6:30 p.m. The All-Star Band will perform rock music from the 1960s and ’80s, beginning at 7 p.m. Fireworks take off at 9 p.m. Spanish River Sports Complex, 1000 NW Spanish River Blvd. 561-367-7073, 561-393-7807, MyBoca.us.
Sunset Cove’s July 4th Celebration will feature the Shindigs performing classic hits from the 1950s, ’60s and ’70s starting at 6:30 p.m. A musical fireworks display by Zambelli Fireworks will follow. Boynton Beach: The celebration includes an area for kids (6-7:30 p.m.), music by JJ and the Connection (R&B) at 6:30 p.m. and The Ocoee River Band (country rock) at 7:30 p.m. Fireworks display begins at 9 p.m. A free park and ride shuttle from Boynton Beach City Hall (100 E. Boynton Beach Blvd.) and Boynton Beach High School (4975 Park Ridge Blvd. at Gateway Blvd.) will be available from 5:30 to 10 p.m. Intracoastal Park, 2240 N. Delray Beach: There will be lots of activities for everyone all day. A sand-sculpture contest takes place from 8 a.m. to noon and an extreme-volleyball match between Delray Beach and Miami Beach will go from 4 to 6 p.m. More fun from 3 to 9 p.m. includes kids’ water activities, mini golf, an art exhibition, 3-D chalk art, a photo booth and vendor booths. A variety of food will be sold, and there will be a beer garden. The entertainment lineup: Mixtura Band at 3:30 p.m., Son of Man Blues Band at 5, the Long Run Eagles Tribute Band at 6:30 and wrapping up with Nobodies Crew until 9 p.m. The fireworks display takes place 9 p.m. at the south end of the beach. Greenacres: The annual patriotic “Ignite the Night” celebration, from 5:30 to 10 p.m., will offer music, contests, children’s activities, arts and crafts and food. Lake Worth: The celebration kicks off with the annual Great American Raft Race, featuring the Parade of Rafts from Lake Avenue to Bryant Park Boat Ramp at 10 a.m. Then, the Centennial Championship Raft Race will float down the Intracoastal Waterway at 11 a.m. The daily festivities at Bryant Park will include arts and crafts, food, music, food and drinks. School of Rock, Carol of Gianni, People Upstairs, Iggy G and Spam All Stars will entertain from noon to 8:30 p.m. A Sunset Dance at Lake Worth Casino Building and Beach Complex will offer dancing, dinner and VIP fireworks viewing from 7 to 10 p.m. for $35 per person. Royal Palm Beach: As part of the celebration, a Kids’ Fun zone area will be packed with carnival-style rides, slides and games from 1 to 8 p.m., and will require a wristband purchase. Local artists will be selling their handcrafted masterpieces, an interactive DJ will spin hits, and there will be a variety of live country and tribute bands and an open-mike session. Odyssey Road (a Journey tribute band) begins at 7 p.m. More than 20 gourmet food trucks will sell their delicacies. Wellington: Patriotic Pool Party will help cool things down from noon to 5 p.m. at the Aquatics Complex, 12150 Forest Hill Blvd. Regular pool entrance fees apply. Later on, enjoy the Family Fourth Celebration and Fireworks Extravaganza, featuring traditional games, inflatable rides, free bingo, face painting and food for purchase from 6 to 9 p.m. Brass Evolution will provide the musical entertainment. Zambelli Fireworks, synchronized to music, light up at 9 p.m. Free shuttles will be available from the Mall at Wellington Green at the Palm Tran bus stop. West Palm Beach: “By George, We’re Celebrating a QUARTER Century!” is the theme of this year’s lollapalooza event looking back on 25 years of fun, family and fireworks on the waterfront. Some highlights of the holiday: unfurling of the five-story American flag on the side of the Esplanade Grande building, the Big Rig Gig backhoe and forklift competition, and the Fountain of Youth Kids Area celebrating Florida’s 500th anniversary. Music begins at 5 p.m. and includes performers White Collar Crime, Mighty Quinn, Cat Shell and Riverdown. New this year is a ticketed party at the Lake Pavilion (ages 21 and up). It will be air-conditioned and will include food, beverages, a DJ and a prime viewing area. Tickets cost $25 and can be purchased at Club4thTickets.com.
