On Saturday, March 15, The Richard J. Fox Foundation in conjunction with Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale, Inc. hosted and supported this concert event in recognition of prostate and pancreatic cancer awareness. The event is aimed at educating the public and raising awareness about these diseases.
The event, to took place at Esplanade Park – Downtown Fort Lauderdale, and featured Blue Fire Band, Sovereign State, Roberto Perera, Terry Wollman, Melanie Taylor, Greg Manning, Community Property, Igy, Thom Sessa and Wyld Fly as well as other great performers. Net proceeds from this fundraising event were made in memory of Richard Mancuso, Fort Lauderdale’s 2012 Citizen of the year to the following: Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale and Lombardi Cancer Center at Georgetown University Washington DC.

About the Foundation:
The Richard J. Fox Foundation, established in 1988, is dedicated to increasing awareness of prostate cancer through education and outreach, and for finding a cure through the funding of cutting edge research. Since its founding, millions have been raised to establish one of the largest free screening programs in the United States. Foundation funds have also generated NIH grants for the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center at Georgetown University, a Foundation funding priority. New research programs for gene mapping and groundbreaking work using MRI’s with prostate cancer patients are also underway.
Proceeds from the Foundation support free screenings for the disease as well as education and research towards a cure.
