At both SheriffsTV and Eye on South Florida we believe in bringing forth programming that is both informative and has a positive effect on the quality of life in our community. This week in Ft. Lauderdale, an event is being held that remains true to these principles which focus on investing in our children through sports and supporting cancer research. The Champions International Camps or The C.I.C. Project will be holding a week long soccer camp where children can train and learn values from international world champion soccer players, coaches and trainers. This is a opportunity for the children registered in The C.I.C. to have a once in a lifetime “fun” week, learning skills from football or soccer’s best while being reinforced with values including sacrifice, commitment, fair play, friendship and eating healthy. The Champion in the Ft. Lauderdale Camp will be Massimo Ambrosini, a player whose teams have won international titles including European Super Cups,Champions League, Italian Series A League and the Italian Cup. He is currently the Captain of AC Milan and a player/founder of The C.I.C. Project along with Allessandro Billy Costacurta, Fabio Cannavaro and Massimo Oddo. Other founders include sports managers Paolo Tavegggia and Giovanni Branchini. Outside of South Florida, the only other C.I.C. 2013 USA Summer Camps are in Baltimore, Los Angeles and Seattle.
The C.I.C. Project works in conjunction with Red Card Cancer ( A Cure is our Goal) to support new cancer research initiatives at the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center . Proceeds and fund raising from the C.I.C. will be donated to John Hopkins, one of the worlds leading cancer research centers. The Mission of Red Card Cancer is a call to action to help defeat the world’s biggest opponent by uniting the global game of soccer in the fight against cancer. The Kimmel Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins has partnered with Red Card Cancer since 2010 as they strive along with The C.I.C. Project to touch a world audience. The Ft. Lauderdale Strikers Soccer Club are also hosting and assisting with the C.I.C. and it is being held at their home field, Lockhart Stadium. Both SheriffsTV and Eye on South Florida look forward to spreading the message of all the organizations involved and establishing future partnerships as they move forward with their goals.
