The Akerman team in Palm Beach County came together along with members of the community,including the mayor of West Palm Beach Jeri Muoio, to help raise funds to fight childhood cancers. The team dedicated their efforts to a special member of the Akerman family, three year-old Ava Crowley, the daughter of their friend Spencer Crowley, a shareholder in the firm’s Miami office, and his wife Nickelle. Ava was diagnosed last Spring with an advanced stage of neuroblastoma, an aggressive childhood cancer. As brave Ava continues her intensive chemotherapy and other treatment, Akerman colleagues joined forces with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation and pledged to shave their heads to raise funds and awareness– and to honor Ava.
